how can i cancel my credit card with out it going bad against my credit?
Credit CardErikaS asked:
I’ve had this card for a while and am now starting to notice every month i get charged tons of fees. plus an $11 maintenance fee every month. I’m sick of it. is there a way to cancel this card without it going bad against my credit. or is my only option to pay it off and get the regular fees every month even if i dont use the card?

You shouldn’t get any fees , if you don’t have a balance … Just call them and cancel the card .. pay off any left over fees … and go out and get another card (Which has no fees)
That will not hurt your credit … changing cards never does .. as long as everything you owe is paid on time.

You definitely want to cancel a card if it has monthly or annual fees, but it can hurt your credit. I repair credit for a living..what you have to consider is how long that card has been open. 10% of your credit score is length of time. 30% is available credit to used credit ratio. If you close a card with a large credit limit, your available credit ratio drops. If it’s a large credit limit card and it has been open for sometime, and there are no fees, pay it off cut it up and never think about it again.
