I have no credit and need to establish some. Where can I get a credit card with no credit requirments?

I don’t know if you have any money to spare, but i was in your same situation a few years back and opened a card with Orchard Bank. Basically you apply and give them 200 dollars. You then get a card with a 200 dollar limit. Once you’ve paid well for some months they’ll up your limit and it’s just like any other credit card. After i’d had my orchard bank card for about a year i would get more and more credit card offers in the mail every day. It really did help me build my credit.

I started off with Capital One, try that. It is good to use your card, doesn’t only have to be for emergencies, just as long as you pay more than the minimum.
If Capital One doesn’t approve you try getting credit cards from big stores like Target, Macys or Amazon.

oh, and try not to apply to too many cards, it will show up on your credit report.

The most common mistake people make is that they apply for credit cards that require very good credit history. Ofcourse you’ll get rejected. After doing some research, i found the following site that has some cards designed just for people in your situation. Check out the card from orchard bank at the bottom of the site. You could also apply for a secured credit card. See if this helps you.

Some prime issuers, such as Citi or Bank of America, have student cards. I would start there.
Also, try for a gas card…. while you’ll only be able to use it at that station, it begins building history.
A third choice would be a secured card (check USBank) that will convert to an unsecured card after approx 12-15 mos of good payment history.
Keep in mind to only charge what you can pay in full at the end of the month and you will graduate better off financially than 50% of your peers. good luck!

Definitely try Capital One. BUT READ the terms & conditions first. Sometimes they will charge an “Annual Fee” which can be anywhere from $10-60 a year. But its a small price to pay for good credit in the future. I applied with them in January, was approved (I had VERY bad credit–about 350) and now, nearly August, my credit has gone up to the 760’s.
Just read the terms (make sure you have a low or 0% interest rate), make SMALL purchases each month, pay them off, and keep doing that and your credit will shoot up.

There are some unsecured credit cards you can acquire without a credit check but they only allow you to shop at there online retailer. This may seem silly but if you pay on time they report to all 3 credit agencies thus building your credit. A secured card may be the best way to go since you don’t have to worry about late payments.

You said you applied for 2 credit cards. Are these cards designed for college students? If not, that’s probably why you’re getting denied. You’re going to want to apply for a credit card that’s designed for a student.
These cards generally don’t require a credit history or a minimum income. Since you have to start credit somewhere, the credit card companies are more lenient towards approving you.
I put a link to a great card that most students apply for. You can get rewards just for using it. Make sure you pay your bill off in full to avoid the interest rates. This is a great way to start off your credit history!

there a credit card that is for people with bad or no credit, you just hav to go to and fill out the information and you are almost gauranteed to be approved.

Way to start looking into it early. Any card will help you build credit, but if you plan on maintaining a balance (which I strongly recommend against), you’ll need to find one with a low rate (not just promotional rate).
You’re looking into rewards- that’s great. If you’re buying things and you’re paying off your debt each month, you might as well get a small cash-back reward for your purchases. Citicard.com and discovercard.com will have some good rewards programs for you.
